Fireworks at home

Florida law, section 791.08, allows consumer fireworks on three days: New Year’s Day, July 4 and New Year’s Eve. Homeowners association covenants that ban fireworks still apply, though an HOA board cannot make new rules overriding the holiday right.

Trash on the holiday

Independence Day is one of three holidays that can shift Port St. Lucie’s collection by a day. In 2026, with July 4 on a Saturday, the city announced no change. See trash and recycling.
