Port St. Lucie’s New Year’s Eve party is at Tradition Square. Tradition’s New Year Celebration is set for 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026, per Tradition’s event page, which says details are still to come. It is an early, family-friendly countdown: last year the night ended with fireworks at 9 p.m., not midnight.

Updated Nov. 1: the city posted its 2026 holiday hours. City Hall is closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 and reopens Monday, Jan. 4.

Closures and trash

  • Trash: regular collection on Thursday, Dec. 31, and Friday, Jan. 1, 2027, per the city’s 2026 holiday calendar.
  • City Hall: closed Thursday, Dec. 31, and Friday, Jan. 1, and reopens Monday, Jan. 4, 2027, per the city’s holiday page. The MIDFLORIDA Event Center fitness center, the Community Center and Minsky Gym are closed both days. Last year the fitness center and Community Center opened 7 a.m. to noon on New Year’s Eve; this year they do not.
  • Parks: community parks 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and neighborhood parks 8 a.m. to dusk both days. The Saints Golf Course is open 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On New Year’s Day the interactive fountain at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center and the Pioneer Park splash pad are closed.
  • Schools: St. Lucie Public Schools are on winter break until Monday, Jan. 4; students return Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2027. See our schools guide.
