State report card

Florida grades every public school A to F. A school’s grade is the share of possible points it earns on state test results and learning gains, plus, for high schools, the graduation rate and college and career acceleration. The state’s 2026 file sets an A for a high school at 65% of points or more, according to the 2025-26 school grades file from the Florida Department of Education.

School year Grade
2025-26 B (62% of possible points)

The share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26, from the same file:

  • English language arts: 64%
  • Math: 48%
  • Science: 83%
  • Social studies: 76%

The full report card is on the state’s Florida school report cards site. It is an interactive dashboard; the figures above come from the downloadable file.

Attendance zone

High school students are assigned to their residential zone school by home ZIP code, according to the district’s Student Assignment office; current students do not need to apply for their zone school. Under the district’s high school zone chart (PDF), Legacy High serves:

  • 34953 south of Gatlin Boulevard and west of Rosser Boulevard
  • 34953 north of Gatlin Boulevard and west of the power lines
  • 34987 (Tradition)

Students who live outside these areas and want Legacy apply through the district’s out-of-zone application; the Student Assignment office names Legacy as an example of an out-of-zone school and took those applications Jan. 1-31, 2026.

There is no middle-to-high feeder list: a student’s high school follows the home ZIP code, so classmates from one middle or K-8 school can go to different high schools. Students can apply instead for a magnet program at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy or an attractor program such as Lincoln Park Academy’s International Baccalaureate, Fort Pierce Central’s Embry-Riddle aerospace academy or Port St. Lucie High’s arts academy. Check an address on the district’s school locator map.
