City road projects

The city lists its own work on the Capital Improvement Projects Tracker:

  • Port St. Lucie Boulevard South. The city’s project page splits the widening into segments. Gatlin to Darwin boulevards (city-managed) and Darwin to Alcantarra boulevards (FDOT) were listed for early 2026. Alcantarra to Paar Drive is the FDOT job above. Paar Drive to Becker Road is in design, with construction estimated for 2027 to 2030 and not yet funded.
  • Floresta Drive Phase 3. A two-lane rebuild with sidewalks, bike lanes, lighting and roundabouts at Fallon Drive and Naranja Avenue, from Crosstown Parkway to Prima Vista Boulevard. It began in March 2025 and is expected to finish in fall 2028.
  • Neighborhood resurfacing. The city maintains more than 925 miles of road. Its resurfacing plan last reported 40.8 of 42.5 planned miles done, as of June 22, under a contract that ran through Oct. 31. The city’s website could not be reached when we checked Nov. 2, so we could not confirm whether the last miles were finished. A pavement condition map scores every street.

Much of this work is paid for by the county’s half-cent sales tax, approved in 2018. A renewal is on the ballot Tuesday, Nov. 3, Election Day; see our voting guide.

How to stay ahead of it
